Beanie Readies Return, Talks About Hip-Hop's Downfall
Beanie Sigel is looking to fellow Philadelphians Dre & Vidal for help crafting his forthcoming album.
Sigel (born Dwight Grant) told Billboard.com that he's been in the studio with the songwriting/production duo, and hopes to complete the currently untitled set in time for an early release next year. Beans is confident the Philly triumvirate will turn out a classic album.
"Dre & Vidal are the new millennium Gamble & Huff," Sigel told Billboard.com. "With me, you're looking at the new Teddy Pendergrass of hip-hop. We're here to turn off a lot of people's lights."
"Both musically and lyrically, hip-hop has declined within the last three years," the MC added, speaking frankly about the current state of hip-hop. "There's no substance. No one is talking about anything but there's a lot going on in terms of current events and other issues."
There has been plenty in the way of current events and issues for Sigel, who was recently shot twice in the arm during a botched robbery attempt this May. He managed to drive himself to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was treated for his injuries and released within a day. The police investigation that followed resulted in controversy when a SOHH.com source revealed that police were looking at the possibility the shooting might have been a publicity stunt.
The new album follows up Sigel's 2005 release The B.Coming, which sold 405,000 copies domestically according to Nielsen SoundScan. According to sources Beanie is still signed to Roc-A- Fella Records.

Foxy Brown is Back
A year after Foxy Brown came forward with her battle with hearing loss, Brown has a positive prognosis from doctors, who believe she will be fully recovered very soon, post surgery.
Her long delayed next album will be released before the end of the year. “ Around Christmas Eve, the album will be out", Brown said Sunday, after performing with the Jigga man at his unreal and unmatched 10th Anniversary Reasonable Doubt show.
In December 2005, Brown held a press conference to discuss the leak in regards to her hearing from someone in her camp. She stated that it had deteriorated to the point that she needed someone to tap her shoulder so she could "feel" the beat in the studio. She announced she was suffering from a severe and sudden sensorineural hearing loss in both ears.
Brown was distraught to the point of sleepless nights, questioning her faith and her career as a professional artist, saying "To suddenly lose your hearing after 10 years as a professional artist, I questioned God: 'Why me?' "
Brown underwent surgery three months ago and is on her way to having her hearing back. Brown said "I went straight from the operating room to the studio, it was really hard. I was deaf for an entire year. Completely deaf. The surgery was iffy. They didn't know if it would be a success, and it was."
Before her hearing loss, Brown had recorded music with Jay- Z and the Neptunes for the album tentatively titled, Black Roses. No word yet on who she's working with currently, but Def Jam, says there's no official date for the album and the tenative-title is exactly what it sounds like.
July 18, Brown will be on stage for the LIFEbeat's Hearts & Voices AIDS Benefit Concert Series show, Reggae Gold Live 2006 Summer Jump off, to promote HIV and AIDS awareness. The show will take place at New York's famous Webster Hall and also includes Beenie Man, TOK and Wayne Wonder.

New York Judge Issues Arrest Warrant For DMX
An arrest warrant has been issued for DMX after the rapper missed a scheduled court date on Wednesday (June 21) to answer charges of speeding and driving erratically on June 2 in White Plains, New York.
DMX, born Earl Simmons, was originally due in court on June 16, but was granted a one-week extension by a previous judge, due to a prior engagement.
"We have granted him a number of courtesies," Judge Barbara Leak told the Associated Press. "It ends now."
DMX's lawyer Stacey Murray said the rapper would appear in court on Thursday. She explained the DMX had flown to New York from Arizona to make the court date, but had become ill in the process.
Police charged the rapper with speeding and seat belt and unsafe lane change violations for the June 2 incident. According to police, DMX's New York driver's license was also suspended when he was stopped.
DMX is also due to appear in court in Harrison, New York on July 21 to answer charges of driving on the shoulder of the road, after his 2006 Chevy Suburban was struck by another vehicle as he attempted to re-enter traffic on the Hutchinson River Parkway, 9 days after the White Plains episode.
On June 16, DMX was also cited for carrying a concealed handgun outside of a Scottsdale, Arizona nightclub. In that infraction, police saw the rapper place a handgun underneath his 1964 Chevy convertible.
Simmons was not arrested, charged with a misdemeanor for not having a permit to conceal the weapon in the vehicle.

Rise is a free festival organized by London Mayor Ken Livingstone to combat racism and celebrate London's diversity, in partnership with the National Assembly Against Racism and TUC South East Region.

Comedians Ninia Benjamin, Shazia Mirza, Nathan Caton and Kojo will provide humor for the crowd in the comedy tent as well.

Rumors are circulating that Lil' Flip is leaving Columbia/Sony for the Warner Music Group due to the frustration of his much delayed album I Need Mine.
In addition to the rumors, I Need Mine has leaked onto the Internet earlier today (June 27). Some insiders believe it is retaliatory move made by Sony. Representatives for Sony declined to comment.

Although details are still sketchy, sources from both record labels have admitted having heard the rumors. However, at press time it is still unclear whether Flip is out of his deal with Sony and if a deal with Warner has been negotiated.
I Need Mine features appearances from Nate Dogg, MJG, Three 6 Mafia and Lil Keke, among others.

BET Awards Full of Surprises -- Some Hot, Some Not
Last night's 2006 BET Awards was an evening of hits and misses for some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B. Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown and Prince were among the evening's stellar performances, but technical snafus and flat jokes made for some less than memorable moments.
Taped live from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium and hosted by comedian Damon Wayans, the evening kicked off on a high note by Beyoncé and Jay-Z performing their new song "Déjà Vu."
Though Mr. and Mrs. Knowles may not have been particularly amused by Hov's backside-smacking antics, viewers at home may have been more troubled by the technical troubles -- beginning with the abrupt segue from Chamillionaire's "106 and Park Live from the Red Carpet" performance into the BET opening number and continuing with some onscreen flickering.
Technical issues also plagued the second performance - after being announced by boxing promoter Don King, Best Male Hip-Hop Artist winner, T.I. was forced to do "What You Know" acapella when the Shrine sound system failed him.
The first awards presentation of the evening went off without a hitch - with the cast of "Good Times" including Jimmie Walker, Bernadette Stanis, Ralph Carter and Janet Jackson sharing a brief reunion before announcing Missy Elliott as winner in the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category. Elliott was unable to accept her award, surprising since she later surfaced to join Busta Rhymes in his performance of the "Touch It" remix.
Elliott and Rhymes were each nominated for four awards this year and while Elliott scored one, Busta ended up with none. Rhymes still turned out what was arguably the hottest Hip-Hop performance of the evening, when he performed "I Love My Chick" with will.i.am and Kelis and the "Touch It" remix with Missy, Rah Digga, Mary J. Blige, Lloyd Banks and surprise guest Eminem - who emerged from the floor for his first performance since his stint in rehab, brief marriage and divorce and the tragic murder of best friend Proof. Busta dedicated the performance to slain bodyguard Israel Ramirez.
Other performances included songs from Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole and Ne-Yo, a Hurricane Katrina tribute from gospel duo Mary Mary and Yung Joc who got the crowd moving to a lip synched version of "It's Goin' Down" flanked by Diddy himself.
Jamie Foxx slipped songstress Fantasia some tongue during their performance, Chris Brown did back flips for the audience after being joined by Lil' Wayne for his number and an all-star tribute to Lifetime Achievement award winner Chaka Khan, which included Stevie Wonder, Prince, India.Arie and Yolanda Adams. The evening would prove to be a big one for Prince who also picked up the Best Male R&B Award and closed the evening with a performance of "3121."
Outkast presented the final award of the evening "Best Video" which resulted in a tie between Kanye West and Jamie Foxx's "Gold Digger" and Blige's video for "Be Without You." West, Foxx and Blige each picked up two awards for the evening, as did Best New Artist Chris Brown, who accepted his Viewers Choice Award with Ne-Yo at his side.
For a complete list of the 2006 BET Award winners please visit www.bet.com. The show will re-air this Friday, June 30 on BET.
Ludacris and Damon Dash Document "Paper Chase"
Paper Chasers, a documentary focusing on hip-hop entrepreneurs, is slated to make its TV premiere on the Independent Film Channel (IFC) on July 3rd.
The film first premiered at the 2003 Tribeca Film Festival. It documents a pre-Def Jam Ludacris, months before he released his first album, Incognegro, independently and follows him as he gains success over the following 3 years. The film also features Fat Joe, Master P, Damon Dash, Russell Simmons, Chuck D and Flavor Flav, among many other artists and entrepreneurs.
My goal was to provide an authentic, unglamorous documentation of what is required to take a product or service from the idea stage, through delivery to an audience, Maxie D. Collier, who authored Paper Chasers, said in a statement. It has taken me three very challenging years to complete Paper Chasers and three, even more difficult years, to achieve mass distribution.
Paper Chasers is slated to air July 3rd at 9 p.m. and will be rebroadcast on July 4th at 1 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Government Makes it Harder Out Here for Pimps
It just got harder out here for a pimp.
According to a CNN article, if the government has its way, pimps, prostitutes and other sex workers may be taxed for their labor.
The measure is headed up by Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa. He says “it’s a no brainer to have the IRS go after sex traffickers.”
"Recent headlines have focused on sex trafficking in connection with the World Cup in Germany," Grassley said. "This vile crime is under our noses in the United States, and it's a no-brainer to have the IRS go after sex traffickers. Prosecuting these tax code violations can get these guys off the street and yank from their grasp the girls and women they exploit."
But the road to taxing sex is not without pot holes. Although pimping and hoeing would be taxed, the world’s oldest profession will still be illegal in the states. In spite of this, Grassley calls it, "yet another alternative to track the money flowing in this industry to get at potential criminals."
If a pimp is caught in violation of the law, he/she can face up to ten years for each prostitute that doesn’t have a W-2.
No word on when the powers that be will vote on this issue.

DJ Quik Sentenced To 5 Months In Prison
Rapper/producer DJ Quik has begun a five-month stint in jail for assaulting his sister.
The rapper (born David Marvin Blake) surrendered in Fontana Superior Court last week to begin his sentence.
The incident occurred in 2003 when Blake pulled a gun on his sister during a family argument, according to police reports.
The rapper was ordered last year to spend 45 days in jail on weekends after pleading guilty to the assault, but never served his time, sources told AllHipHop.com.
The avoidance resulted in a violation of Blake's probation, causing Judge Keith Davis to increase Blake's jail time Thursday (June 22) to increase the beatmaker's time behind bars to 150 consecutive days and ordering him to begin serving his time immediately.
DJ Quik is currently enjoying success as a featured guest on the west coast remix to Chamillionaire's #1 hit, "Ridin' Dirty."
The rapper/producer also recently released Greatest Hits Live at the House of Blues, a 20-track set recorded live in February 2006.
The album features a 12-piece band and boasts guest appearances from Chingy, Nate Dogg, B-Real and others.
Dallas Austin Admits To Cocaine Rap, Close Associate Responds
After briefly appearing in a United Arab Emirate court this morning, jailed super-producer Dallas Austin has been ordered to stand trial in Dubai on Sunday, for possession of cocaine.
As previously reported, the 34-year-old producer was arrested at the Dubai International Airport on May 19 on charges of possessing and bringing in illegal substances for personal use. This morning the Gulf News reported their court sources in Dubai say Austin was carrying 1.26 grams of cocaine and five and a half capsules of cocaine and an MDM drug at the time of his arrest.
"The 1.26 grams of cocaine was found in his pocket," the source told Gulf News, while also confirming that Austin is still in police custody. Austin has been held without bail at a Rashidya police station in Dubai for more than a month.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Austin was formally charged with possession of 1.26 grams of cocaine during an arraignment-like hearing this morning. On Sunday Austin's lawyers will be able to present his defense.
Another report, published in United Arab Emirate paper the Khaleej Times, reported that after the May 20th customs search discovered a tablet and a piece of paper with drugs in Austin's pocket, a baggage search resulted in the police confiscating one gram of heroin and steroid capsules. A police source for the Times told the paper Austin admitted to bringing drugs into Dubai during his interrogation.
"He told the investigation officers that he bought the drugs in the US for his personal use and forgot to remove it from his bag and pocket before he came here. The confiscated drugs were sent to the Forensic Laboratory. A urine test was also conducted."
Legal experts in the UAE have said that if found guilty Austin will likely face a four-year imprisonment.
We reached out to Atlanta hip-hop duo Da Backwudz, who are signed to Austin's Rowdy Records for their reaction on the news.
"We just found out about it a couple days ago the same as everyone else," Da Backwudz said. "It's unfortunate, we have him in our prayers, he's a good dude."
Producer Milwaukee Black, who has worked closely with Austin for the last two years while executive producing Da Backwudz' Wood Work also offered his thoughts on the situation.
"That shit is crazy. I just heard about it the other day. I hadn't seen him in awhile, but I just figured he was chilling because he had been working hard on his new album 8 Daze a Week," Milwaukee said. "I'ma just put homie in my prayers to return safe and quickly. One thing about that dude Dallas, he's been through a lot and always ended up on top. He's a survivor so I think everything will work out for him."
Milwaukee Black said he was not aware of any previous drug abuse on Austin's part.
"It came as a surprise to me. I just sit and wait, because something can be on the news, but I still say the word alleged. I'm not over there and I didn't see it directly, I've never seen it," Milwaukee Black said.
Da Backwudz are signed to Rowdy and Universal Records through a joint venture with Milwaukee Black's Major Way Entertainment. Although Milwaukee Black believed Austin planned to take Da BackWudz on an overseas tour in the fall, he does not expect the group to be affected by Austin's arrest.
"I think everything will be fine with Dallas. I'm just praying for him and hope to see him soon. With Da Backwudz or any other group there is a time when you have to be a man and pick yourself up and grind it yourself. If Dallas is sitting with them or someplace else the group has to go out there and make their mark."
Damon Dash Cleared Of Assault Allegations
Damon Dash was recently cleared of assault allegations made by the mother of his fourteen year old son, Linda Williams.
According to the New York Post, Williams claimed that Dash attacked and smacked her when they met over their son at a public park in uptown NYC. Dash denied the charge and said he was just trying to remove his son from her grip.
The judge presiding over the case sided with Dash, stating that the 35 year old mogul didn't intend to inflict any violence upon Williams.
Dash and Williams have been to court on different occasions fighting for custody of their son.
In related news, Dash partnered with Koch Records last month for his Damon Dash Music Group. The label's first release will be the new album by dancehall artist Sizzla. Sizzla's album, entitled The Overstanding, is due this summer.
Jay-Z Discusses Jaz-O Feud, Endorses Lupe Fiasco and Krug Champagne
After captivating the masses with a memorable performance of his entire debut CD on Sunday, Jay-Z took time out last night (June 26) to answer questions from his fans via Rocafella.com.
During the Q&A, the MC-turned- Def Jam President revealed why he dismissed Cristal, which CEO he "fears" the most, and why certain acquaintances didn't come out to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of his critically acclaimed album, Reasonable Doubt.
As previously reported, Jaz- O, who was featured on the song "Bring It On," was nowhere to be seen when Sauce Money, who also appeared on the song, took the stage with Jay-Z. Nas, who was expected to perform "Dead Presidents" because of his recent signing with Def Jam, also didn't appear at the event.
When queried about whether he tried to reach out to either Jaz-O or Nas, Hov said "Yeah I did, but he (Jaz-O) continued to air things in public, so I figured what's the sense. He's still holding on to baggage. As far as Nas, we already did the "I Declare War" show.
Since his well documented departure from rap in 2004, hip-hop loyalists have been seeking for the next rapper to take the place of the self proclaimed "Mike Jordan of rap". According to Jay, the up and coming rappers have a lot to offer, specifically one from Chicago.
"I believe the game moves in cycles and I believe there will be another wave of superstars to move the game forward. If I had to name one person, I would have to say Lupe. He is making the most creative, different new music. It's fresh".
Most CEO's would be more than happy to recline their seats knowing they have multi platinum rappers like Ludacris, LL Cool J and Young Jeezy on their roster, but Hov isn't quite comfy yet and doesn't hesitate to point out which CEO he feels is his biggest competition.
"I would say Jimmy Iovine, because not only is he a brilliant marketer and a businessman, he was also a producer, so he can speak from an artist's level."
Jay-Z recently made headlines earlier this month when he announced he would no longer support or serve Cristal via his brands (Rocawear) or his 40/40 franchises, because of comments made by the managing director of the high priced champagne.
In a recent edition of The Economist Magazine, Frédéric Rouzaud, the managing director of Louis Roderer Cristal, shunned the rap community's promotion of the drink.
"What can we do?" said Rouzaud, in an article titled "Bubbles & Bling." "We can't forbid people from buying it. I'm sure Dom Perignon or Krug would be delighted to have their business."
After his performance on Sunday, Hov was seen flaunting bottles of Krug. Also as promised Jay replaced any mention of Cristal in his rhymes with Moet.
When fans asked how angry he was with Cristal when he found out about them being anti-hip-hop, Jay replied "I'm angry with anybody who is not absolutely 100 percent thrilled for us to endorse their products without being paid."
In related news, Jay-Z is preparing to go on a global tour this year. The tour will kick off in the UK in September. Hov also plans to perform in Kenya, France, Nigeria, Ireland, Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, UAE, Russia, Poland, CzechRepublic, Ghana, Angola, South Africa, China, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.

"They threatened not only me but my family and anyone that knows me knows I don't play when it comes to my family" Babs said regarding her reasons for confronting the women.

Rapper Monsieur R Avoids Prosecution By French Government
French rapper Monsieur R has avoided prosecution by the French government for controversial lyrics that compared France to a slut and the government to Germany's infamous Third Reich.
In the song, FranSSe, Monsieur R (born Richard Makela) makes reference to relieving himself on Napoleon and General Charles De Gaulle while repeatedly referring to France as a "b**ch" that needs to be taken until exhaustion. The video for the song, which featured images of atrocities in Africa cut with naked white women playing with the French flag, had been banned from television.
Outraged French politicians blamed Monsieur R for inciting some of the riots that ended in parts of Paris suburbs being burned to the ground last November. Late last year, French MP Daniel Mach brought charges against Monsieur R accusing him of broadcasting a violent or pornographic message, accessible to those less than 18 years of age.
Mach also drafted legislation that would make it a criminal offense to make statements that insult the dignity of France and the French state.Makela faced a three-year prison term or a 75,000 euro fine, but the case was thrown out of court by the presiding judge who indicated that the MP had not himself suffered any harm and that there were no real victims.'The judges have been courageous,” said Dominique Tricaud, lawyer for Monsieur R. “The judges have been courageous in their judgment because there was very strong political pressure. Two hundred deputies from the parliament asked for a special law from the parliament against the rappers. They wanted to kill the rap in France.”The ruling marks the latest victory for rappers against French officials.
In 2003, rap band Sniper was accused of making anti-Semitic and racist music by Nicolas Sarkozy, France’s interior minister.
While a criminal case was filed, the case was found to have merit and the case was thrown out.
Lil' Scrappy Shoots Two Videos Off New Album 'Bred 2 Die, Born 2 Live'
Rapper Lil' Scrappy is setting the mood for his forthcoming sophomore album, Bred 2 Die, Born 2 Live by shooting videos for two of the album's tracks. The Atlanta native will travel to Los Angeles, CA this week to shoot videos for "Money in the Bank" and "Gangsta Gangsta." Both clips will be helmed by acclaimed video director Marcus Raboy. Featuring BME head Lil' Jon and G-Unit member Young Buck rapping with Scrappy over an Isaac Hayes III-produced track, the "Money in the Bank" video captures the three artists living it up inside a backroom casino. Lil' Scrappy again teams with Lil' Jon for "Gangsta Gangsta." The video for the Lil' Jon-produced song features the pair engaging in a high-speed chase after being pulled over by police. "Money In The Bank" and "Gangsta Gangsta" are the first two singles from Bred 2 Die, Born 2 Live, Scrappy's follow-up to his near platinum debut EP The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Trillville & Lil' Scrappy. "It didn't surprise me that 50 wanted to be a part of this project. Scrappy has raw talent." Supreme Court Refuses TVT Appeal Of Def Jam Ruling
The United States Supreme Court has decided against hearing a petition filed by TVT Records to overturn a legal decision, which voided a $132 million jury verdict to TVT from Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJMG).According to reports, the decision comes after a June 2005 ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which found that TVT’s claims of unsavory business tactics, including the charge of fraud, were without merit. The lawsuit stems from allegations made by TVT, which accused IDJMG and Lyor Cohen of unsavory business tactics and fraud, over an unreleased album by Ja Rule’s group Cash Money Click. According to court records, TVT claimed that IDJMG and Cohen sabotaged the Cash Money Click album by blocking the release as not to interfere with Ja Rule’s Def Jam release, which was scheduled to be in stores around the same time.In March of 2003, a jury awarded TVT $132 million in punitive and compensatory damages against IDJMG, finding Cohen personally responsible for $56 million in damages. That award was overturned in 2003 and Cohen's punitive damages were cut from $56 million dollars to $3 million, while IDJMG was ordered to pay $50 million dollars.
TVT was eventually awarded $126,720 for a breach of contract claim, which IDJMG and Cohen did not appeal.
Cohen has since left IDJMG and is now Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group, responsible for all aspects of WMG's U.S. recorded-music operations.

Dos-Noun Calls It Quits
In a considerably lengthy blog on MySpace, Pittsburgh bred emcee Dos-Noun announced on Wednesday that his forthcoming album with long-time collaborator Burns will be his last. Citing an unsatisfactory return on his physical and mental investment in his career and a heightened distaste for the underground hip-hop scene, Dos states that he plans to leave the game now, before abandoning “some sembelance [sic] of dignity.” Though, in past interviews, Dos has indicated that he planned to move from hip-hop to “just music,” by recording with Burns as The Cosmonaughts, his MySpace missive contained no indication that this project was his next move. According to his June 22nd blog, Dos plans to hang it up for good after releasing his final record and honoring all scheduled touring commitments.
Jay- Z Brings Out Beyonce, Foxy Brown, and Sauce Money at "Reasonable Doubt" Concert
Jay-Z performed his entire first album Reasonable Doubt yesterday (June 25th) at NYC's Radio City Music Hall in celebration of its 10 year anniversary.
Pain in Da Ass kicked off the show, doing his Scarface introduction before Jay hit the stage dipped in an all white suit.
Jay started off the concert with "Regrets," the last song from Reasonable Doubt and then followed playing the albums songs in descending order. For his next song "Bring It On" Jigga reunited with longtime associate Sauce Money. Surprisingly Jay didn't bring out Jaz-O, who was also originally featured on the song. People in the audience chanted O's, while Jay just smiled. The two had an unresolved beef that started several years ago, stemming from Jaz-O's role as Hov's mentor.
Jay continued with "Can I Live" and "D'Evils," where his band, which consisted of The Roots' ?uestlove, The Illadelphonics, and The Hustler's Symphony Orchestra, played Snoop's "Murder Was The Case" halfway through the track.
Jay brought out Foxy Brown for "Ain't No Nigga," causing the crowd to go crazy. Unfortunately Foxy's hearing problems were apparent. She was rapping too loud and at times off key.
Jay then followed with "22 Twos," replacing the 2nd verse with a new one called "44 fors." The teleprompter counted off the number of times he said "for" from 1 to 44.
Memphis Bleek joined Jay for "Coming of Age," and then Jay went into "Dead Presidents II." Nas didn't show up despite rumors that he'd perform the hook. Jay rendition of "Brooklyn's Finest," his duet with the late Notorious B.I.G. was a highlilght of the night. Jigga did the whole song including Big's lyrics while pictures of the two were displayed on the TV screen. Again halfway through the song the band went into another classic song, this time it was Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Brooklyn Zoo."
For his last song "Can't Knock the Hustle," Jay brought out his girlfriend Beyonce, to fill in for Mary J. Blige who originally appeared on the track. B looked amazing as usual wearing a stunning white dress. They finished the song, and Jay thanked the crowd and left.
After 10 minutes Jay returned to the stage for an encore, with Bleek and Just Blaze behind the turntables. For the next 45 minutes Jay went through hits like "Big Pimpin," "Streets Is Watching," "Give It To Me," "Excuse me Miss," "PSA," "Hola Hovito" (with a Puerto Rican Flag with the Roc-A-Fella logo), "Jigga My Nigga," "Money Ain't a Thing," "What More Can I Say," and "Encore."
He recited half of the songs accappella, and for "Big Pimpin" the crowd rapped almost the entire first verse as Jigga listened with a cocky grin.
Babs Bunny Arrested In Brooklyn
Bad Boy rapper Babs of Making The Band fame was arrested early Saturday (June 24) after an altercation at a Brooklyn, N.Y., house party.
According to representatives, Babs spent the night in jail after an incident involving two unidentified women. One woman allegedly believed Babs had stolen her former lover.
The two women showed up at the rapper's home and accused her of dancing and flirting with one woman's boyfriend, according to Babs' publicist.
The women eventually left because Babs did not go outside at that moment, but she later showed up at the apartment of one of the women, with two friends, the publicist said.
The woman called the police and accused someone of keying and scratching her car. When the cops showed up, she told them Babs had threatened her.
"They threatened not only me but my family and anyone that knows me knows I don't play when it comes to my family," Babs told AllHipHop.com in a statement released by her representative Alyse Feldman, who was also present at the party.
A restraining order was issued against Babs, who spent the night in a local jail and was ordered to stay 100 feet away from the woman.
"The woman knew Babs was the one wearing the red hat so of course she is going to say it was her," Feldman added. "She wants Babs to pay for supposedly trying to steal her boyfriend. The charges are absolutely ridiculous!"
Babs is slated to make an appearance in a Brooklyn court this morning to answer the charges.
