50 Cent and Jermaine Dupri Win Big At ASCAP Awards

50 Cent and producer Jermaine Dupri both took home songwriter of the year honors at ASCAP's 19th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards earlier this week (June 26) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Fif's win comes a month after being
honored at the Pop Music Awards last month. The Queens rapper won for co-writing The Game's "Hate It Or Love It" and "How We Do" and writing his own "Just A Lil Bit" and "Candy Shop." "Candy Shop" also won ringtone of the year.
Meanwhile Dupri produced and co-wrote hits for
Mariah Carey, Bow Wow and Usher. EMI Publishing won publisher of the year. The company reportedly put out 17 of the year's biggest urban hits, including Mario's "Let Me Love You" and Amerie's "One Thing." Sean Paul was named reggae artist of the year for the third straight year. LL Cool J was also awarded the Golden Note Award while legendary soul singer Bill Withers was presented with the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award.
