Omillio Sparks Launches Indie Record Label, Working On New Album
Former Roc-a-Fella Records rapper Omillio Sparks is forging a new path with his new independent record label, Colossal Entertainment.
The first project under the Philadelphia-based label will be the lyricist's forthcoming album, This Is The Life.
The release, which will include tracks chronicling Spark's life in his native West Philadelphia, will feature songs such as "I Luv U," a letter to Sparks' children, "Ghetto Love Song," "Ain't My Fault" and "Our World," a street anthem with Freeway.
Producers include Kp, Jimmy Kendricks, Black Keys, Maestro, Doc Stone, Stichie Dan, Versatile and Alchemist.
Sparks first caught the public's eye after signing to Roc-A-Fella. During his time on the label, he emerged as a member of the group O & Sparks and Beanie Sigel's State Property collective.
In addition to Sigel and Sparks, State Property boasted a membership that included fellow rappers Young Chris, Oschino, Neef, Freeway and Peedi Crakk.
Following the group's appearance in the State Property movie, State Property took a break to pursue other projects. Members later reunited for their second release, State Property Presents the Chain Gang, Vol. 2.
Sparks' This is the Life hits stores in early 2007.
