Obie Trice Talks About New Album, The Game, G-Unit Beef

Trice's Second Round's On Me has garnered some buzz. But unlike his first album, this one didn't contain a pop sounding first single.
Cheers' first single, Got Some Teeth caused critics and Hip-Hop heads to think he was trying to cash in on the goofy first single formula Eminem has mastered. And while Cheers did go on to sell platinum plus numbers, the label didn't want to duplicate the move.
“I had another song on my new album that I wanted to put out like that but the label, we had a meeting, they didn’t really want to go that route. It was a song that was justifying ‘Got Some Teeth.’ We’ll probably leak it. It’s called ‘Shady Baby’. The concept is talking about how gangstas act like they can’t laugh and shit. Mother fuckers had a problem with ‘Got Some Teeth.’ It was a dope song...It should have been a single, actually. But, it ended up not being [on the album],” he adds.
On The Game, Obie remained diplomatic. While in the past, Obie went to war with his boys, sparking
various disses to Benzino and Murder Inc., this time, O will stay out of his label mate 50's beef with Game and others.
"I ain't ever had a problem with Game. Me and Game have a song together 'Growing up in the Hood.' We was cool. I seen him like one time at the sudio. Next thing I know, he wasn't around no more. He ain't never said nothing about me. He ain't ever say nothing foul about
Eminem. So, I ain't got no problem with dude," he explained.
The album, which drops today (August 15), features appearances from Eminem, 50 Cent, Nate Dogg and more.
