Keyshia Cole and DMX's Reality Shows End With A Bang

This week marks the culmination of BET's Keyshia Cole six part docu-drama "Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is" and "DMX: Soul Of A Man."
This Wednesday, August 16th at 9pm EST/PST the series finale follows Keyshia's touching reunion with her incarcerated mother at a California prison camp. In the eye-opening final episode, BET and Interscope reveal the costly marks left by substance abuse on the her family, letting viewers watch as Keyshia confronts her mother about her addiction, learns never before heard details about her father and discusses her sister's struggles with alcohol.
"My childhood was not easy," said Keyshia Cole via statement. "I went through a lot of trials and tribulations, so it was important for me to share my struggles - open up my life to my fans. I wanted this show to inspire young kids and let them know that no matter what their situation is, no matter where they come from, no matter where they are, no matter who they are - with faith, you can always accomplish your goals. I did it and survived, and so can they."
With an average of 7 million viewers tuning in each week, "Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is" has followed Cole's determined climb to the top of the
music industry. Despite her struggles to overcome hardships and family member addictions, Cole has emerged as a platinum selling vocal phenomenon and a formidable businesswoman as well.
"Keyshia's passion stems from her complicated past," Reginald Hudlin, BET's President of
Entertainment, said via statement. "This is not a modern day Cinderella tale; this is the story of a talented young survivor that is teaching our youth how to cope with a struggling childhood and still come out on top."
In the series finale of DMX's reality show, X reveals his thoughts of committing suicide. "I have a beautiful wife, beautiful kids, and a career. I'm still not happy. I don't know what my purpose is."
By chance he meets a woman that helps him get out of
the darkness.
Keyshia Cole's Show airs this wed ( August 16th) at 9 pm followed by "DMX: Soul Of A Man."
