Kool Herc & Chuck D Breakdown Beats In NYC

Wax Poetics magazine and Adidas Originals are sponsoring "New York Breaks and Beats" later this month - giving the public a chance to hear DJ Kool Herc drop knowledge on the history of break beats.
On Monday July 31st from 7pm-10pm Public Enemy frontman Chuck D will host the event, which is being held at the Adidas Originals store on 136 Wooster Street in NYC. The

In related news, Herc has also been making waves in the world of fashion.
The hip-hop pioneer recently launched the Sedgwick & Cedar clothing line, a NY-based collection of t-shirts, hoodies and jackets which pays homage to hip-hop's roots by featuring party posters, classic artwork and early hip-hop innovators like Afrika Bambaataa, Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Sha-rock and Busy Bee.
