The Force is With Gnarls Barkley, Duo Plot US Tour And TV Appearances

After donning Star Wars costumes for last night's (6/8) MTV Movie Awards Gnarls Barkley has finalized plans for their North American Tour.
The duo comprised of Grammy-winning
Gorillaz producer Danger Mouse and Atlanta soulman Cee Lo, performed for the MTV main event last night, which was hosted by actress Jessica Alba. Despite Cee Lo's somewhat muted microphone, Gnarls Barkley, whose entire band sported the outfits of various Star Wars characters, wowed their audience with a live version of their St. Elsewhere smash hit "Crazy."
Fans can check their local listings to catch an encore of the broadcast. MTV is scheduled to re-air the Awards Show throughout the weekend. Gnarls also has an upcoming appearance on
NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," scheduled for June 12th. The group previously performed "Crazy" for NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" last month.
"I always enjoyed the late night talk shows more than anything else on TV," Gnarls Barkley stated. "Except for certain cartoons."
The group recently returned from a number of overseas tour dates, including performances at international festivals like Japan's Fuji Rock, Switzerland's Montreux Jazz and England's Creamfields.
Currently enjoying the buzz following St. Elsewhere, which is poised in the #14 spot on the Billboard Top 200, having sold some 168,000 copies since it's release four weeks ago, Gnarls recently announced a number of U.S. tour dates. The album is also #1 on Billboard's "Top Electronic Albums" in addition to ranking in the Top 5 for both Digital Albums and Alternative Albums, and has been extremely well received by critics.
"If you accept praise," Barkley added, also by statement, "you must be prepared to take criticism as well. I am always curious to hear either. But I particularly enjoy the praise, when I feel it is deserved. In the case of St. Elsewhere, I feel it is deserved."
