Tribe Reunites For Tour

With the current state of hip-hop as it is, no group is more yearned for than Queens’ A Tribe Called Quest. The trio of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammed were responsible for a handful of classic albums in the early 90’s. After disbanding following 1998’s The Love Movement, fans have been pleading for a reunion ever since. DJ/co-producer Ali Shaheed told MTV that the group has plans to embark on a reunion tour sometime in the fall. "We're looking at October, November,” he told MTV. “Q-Tip is working on his next solo record; Phife is doing the same thing. I'm working on my second solo album. I know people are like, 'Enough with the solos. Can we get a Tribe joint?' For us, that kind of love makes us feel really good.”This reunion seems to be driven by nothing but demand. "We never knew that all these years, people would be interested,” Muhammad added. “When we left, we meant it to be. When we disbanded, we never had any intentions of coming back." But a tour doesn’t really answer the real question, do they have plans for another album? "As far as doing any albums, there's still a question mark on that. We're not that far along yet. We're going to take these shows and see how it goes."
