OutKast Wilds Out

Sure, there have been many "release dates" for Outkast's highly anticipated Idlewild but reports indicate the album may finally be released in August. Mighty O, the first track off the record has already been leaked to the internet. Bryan Barber wrote and directed the film. It's a picture set in the good old 1930's and the soundtrack takes inspiration from the time period. Still, don't expect anything less than what Outkast has always given. "It's hip-hop. It's OutKast. It is what we've been doing for years," he said to Billboard about the project. "Some songs have a little more piano or whatever, but the whole project was a natural progression from a double CD [OutKast's 2003 album "Speakerboxx/The Love Below"]. It was like, where do we go from here?"While Kast may see a release date soon, Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland's album has been pushed back to 2007. According to Billboard, the singer/actress has held back from releasing her next album Kelly Rowland: My Story in order to properly set up the album's release. Her manager Matthew Knowles claims the new release date has nothing to do with the tracks she has already recorded. Rowland promises a more personal effort than her debut. She also hopes to make this album full of music that is much more urban based as opposed to the alternative approach she took on her debut. While no release date is certain, the album may see light of day in the first quarter of next year.
