Ice Cube is slated to be the first hip-hop artist to perform at myspace.com's secret show in Virginia Beach tomorrow (May 15).
Previous shows have included Gnarls Barkley and alternative groups Franz Ferdinand and Thursday. Heads who hope to attend must be friends of the secret shows page, www.myspace.com/secretshows. A bulletin will be sent to the friends today with instructions on how to access the show. Fans will be admitted on a first come first serve basis. The first 250 people will be allowed into the show.
Rumors recently began circulating regarding tomorrow's secret show. Fans were told that the artist due to perform was among myspace.com/hiphop's top 14 friends. In addition to Cube, the page features Mos Def, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, A Tribe Called Quest, Twista, E-40, Warren G, the Roots and LL Cool J. The official announcement is scheduled to be made later today.
In related news, Cube's album Laugh Now, Cry Later is scheduled to hit stores June 6. The album's first single, "Why We Thugs" is presently picking up steam on radio and video outlets.
