Gunfire Erupts At Lloyd Banks BBQ
Gunfire erupted at a barbecue party purportedly attended by Lloyd Banks in Queens, NY on yesterday morning (May 29), leaving a teenager paralyzed.
According to accounts from witnesses, a group of men on motorcycles rode up to the house where the party was being held and began shooting over the fence.
"It sounded like the 4th of July," Tom Bailey, who lives near the scene in St. Albans, told the New York Post. "It was like 35 shots, and it went on for like five minutes."
18-year-old Destin Mills was the only one hit during the shootout. He was struck in the neck.
"He'll be paralyzed for the rest of his life," his mother, Colette Mills told The Post. "It's devastating. I really feel the city needs to do something about all these guns on the street."
Witnesses who spoke to authorities said Banks (born Christopher Lloyd) was among 150 guests at the party before the shooting begun, but the owner of house says different.
"He wasn't here," said Jeffrey Jay Shields. "They're gonna say 50 Cent was here, too."
A silver .45-caliber pistol was recovered and four men were arrested at the party. Police say none of them wounded the victim.
When asked what sparked the gunfire, Shields told reporters, "You guys would never guess what happened in a million years."
Authorities still want to interview Banks and are already probing whether an argument that fellow G-Unit member Tony Yayo had with Swizz Beatz during a Busta Rhymes video shoot in Brooklyn on Feb. 5 led to the fatal shooting of Rhymes' bodyguard Israel Ramirez.
In related news, Banks is currently putting finishing touches on his sophomore album, Rotten Apple. According to his official website, the album is slated for release on July 18.
