Dave Mays Speaks on Busta Altercation

Former owner of The Source magazine, David Mays, has gone on air to talk about that alleged assault on Mays by Busta Rhymes. Mays went live on Power 105’s Star & Buc Wild morning show with business partner Benzino in New York, revealing that it wasn’t a bottle that he was assaulted with by Rhymes at the Opium club in Miami on March 27, Vibe reported.“I was hit by something in the back of the head, but it wasn’t a bottle,” told Mays. He also stated that he only needed four stitches after the assault, not 50, as some press have reported.Benzino told the morning show’s host, Star, that he was approached by Busta in Opium, who told him that he was offended by a comment Mays had made about him. ’Zino spoke to Busta and told him that whatever the problem, the pair could sit down and discuss it openly. The Flipmode rapper however, apparently didn’t quite see eye to eye, and the assault occurred shortly after.Star enquired as to how Busta would be dealt with, and ’Zino was quick to respond as the engineers played sounds of gunfire in the background.“When I see Busta in person, not on record, it will definitely be dealt with… definitely,” he said.Busta Rhymes has had a lot of legal trouble in the past couple of months, with police still trying to get to the bottom of the fatal shooting that took place on set at the Rhymes’ video shoot for Touch It (Remix) in February. His bodyguard, Israel Ramirez, was killed by a bullet to the chest outside a Brooklyn studio during the filming of the music video.
