Black Eyed Peas, Chamillionaire & Hype Williams Win Big At VMAs
Black Eyed Peas, Chamillionaire and Hype Williams were among the big winners at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York last night.
Surprise winners abounded last night with BEP taking Best Hip-Hop Video award for "My Humps" and Chamillionaire's "Ridin" beating out 50 Cent, Missy Elliot, T.I. and Busta Rhymes for Best Rap Video. Other winners included Beyonce and Slim Thug for Best R&B Video ("Check On It") and the Pussycat Dolls and Snoop Dogg for Best Dance Video ("Buttons").
Meanwhile, T.I. took the stage with his protégé Young Dro and Ludacris and Pharrell Williams brought out the Pussycat Dolls during their "Money Maker" performance. Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot also took the stage to honor Hype Williams, who won the Vanguard Award. Other highlights included Lil Kim, sporting an orange prison jump suit, being escorted on stage by two guards to present the Best Male Video Award.
