T.I. Pays Tribute To Deceased Friend In New Video, Links With Justin Timberlake
T.I. was in Los Angeles this weekend, where he shot two videos.
The video for his new single "Living in the Sky" was shot Sunday and Monday. Directed by Chris Robinson, who also collaborated with T.I. for the "What You Know" and "Why You Wanna" videos as well as the film ATL, "Living in the Sky" features appearances from Jamie Foxx and actor Forrest Whitaker.
"We shot 'Living in the Sky' which to us is a very important video," Grand Hustle Road Manager Clay Evans told SOHH exclusively. "It's a tribute to one of our fallen soldiers Philant Johnson. He was murdered earlier this year. It's an important video to us as a company and as friends, one of the most important videos of this year and dedicated to Big Phil."
Johnson was killed in Cincinnati earlier this year, when vans carrying T.I. and Grand Hustle associates from a T.I./Yung Joc after party were fired on from a vehicle in pursuit.
With a price tag approaching half a million dollars, "Living in the Sky" is one of the most expensive videos that T.I. has ever shot. The video is slated to be released in the next two weeks.
T.I. was also in Los Angeles to shoot "My Love," the video for Justin Timberlake's second single, which was shot Tuesday. T.I. is featured on the song.
