Will Smith Preparing Three New Films
Actor/rapper Will Smith is re-teaming with Columbia Pictures to star in three new movies.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar nominee has signed on to appear in Seven Pounds, where he will portray a man who inadvertently falls in love with a woman while attempting to kill himself.
In addition to his starring role, Smith is negotiating to produce the movie with his Overbrook Entertainment partner James Lassiter. No director is attached to the movie, which was written by Grant Nieporte
Seven Pounds will be the second film the Grammy winner has done for Columbia Pictures and Escape Artists. The first film of the three is the forthcoming drama, the Gabriele Muccino-directed Pursuit of Happyness.
With two films under his belt, Smith is adding a third to the mix by signing on to star in Columbia's Tonight, He Comes. The film, which was originally slated for a 2007 start date, has been pushed back after Muccino, the film's director, dropped out.
