Gravy Shot By One Of His Own

Brooklyn-based rapper Gravy was shot by one of the members of his own crew last month, according to sources close to the New York Police Department.
Gravy (born Jamal Woolard)
was shot in the buttocks outside the Hudson Street building which houses Hot 97 studios on Wednesday (April 26)
Gravy had arrived at the studio accompanied by his entourage of about 30-40 individuals to do an on-air interview with Funkmaster Flex and promote his album. Police sources close to The New York Post say that a surveillance camera near the Hudson Street building captured the shooting.
The videotape shows the gunman, who was a member of Gravy's entourage, firing his gun recklessly in the direction of the building as he ran away from the entrance. His identity has yet to be revealed.
Gravy's shooting, which was the third in five years involving rappers and their entourages in front on Hot 97's studios,
sparked The New York City District Council of Carpenters, who owns the building, to file a lawsuit demanding the eviction of the infamous hip-hop radio station. The Carpenters Union lawsuit accused Hot 97 of promoting violence and putting tenants' lives at risk.
Emmis Radio LLC, owner of Hot 97, fired back by countersuing with a breach-of-contract lawsuit.
Hot 97 has been plagued with shooting incidents in the past few years.
Back in 2001, a shooting took place in front of the station between the entourages of Lil' Kim and Capone-N-Noreaga. When questioned about the shooting, Kim later denied the presence of two of her associates, which eventually led to her perjury and conspiracy conviction. She's presently still serving a one year and a day sentence in the Philadelphia Detention Center.
Last year,
another shooting took place when The Game and his comrades attempted to enter the station to confront 50 Cent. 50 had announced to listeners that Game was being kicked out of his crew G-Unit minutes earlier. The incident resulted in Game's friend, Kevin Reed aka P-nut being shot in the leg.
On a lighter note,
the station recently announced the lineup for its annual Summer Jam concert. This year's event will take place on June 4th and will boast performances by artists including Busta Rhymes, T.I., Three 6 Mafia, Mary J. Blige, Young Jeezy, Mobb Deep, Remy Martin, Sean Paul, Dipset and Jamie Foxx, among others.
