Common "Dreams Up" Lead Single For "Freedom Writers"

Common's latest single, "A Dream," produced by the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, will be featured on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Hillary Swank film Freedom Writers.
Based on a true story,
Hilary Swank plays a Los Angeles teacher named Erin Gruwell, who inspires her class of at-risk students to learn tolerance, apply themselves, and pursue education beyond high school. The film also stars Patrick Dempsey ("Grey's Anatomy"), Scott Glenn (Training Day) and R&B singer Mario.
The Freedom Writers soundtrack also features
music from Talib Kweli, The Pharcyde and will.i.am.
The Freedom Writers
movie opens in theatres on January 5, while the soundtrack is scheduled to hit shelves on January 9. [Peep a trailer for the flick here]
