Outlawz Affiliate Seeks To Have Tupac Shakur Added To Hollywood Walk of Fame

In an effort to keep Tupac's worldwide legacy alive, Tupac’s protégé, Muszamil, is spearheading a petition to get the Hip-Hop legend a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The on-line petition, which currently has close to 6,500 signatures, will be presented to the
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, as well as Johnny Grant, head of the Hollywood Walk of Fame selection committee.
As part of the criteria to get a star, nominees must have accumulated a body of achievement over a period of some longevity with at least some measurable contribution to the community.
Applicants are also required to pay a $15,000 nomination fee. Out of roughly 200 nominees a year, about 20 to 30 celebrities receive a Walk of Fame star.
There are several categories for receiving stars including a posthumous category, motion pictures, television, recording (as in
music), live theater and radio.
Muszamil is currently touring the country to support his campaign to get Tupac a Walk of Fame star, as well as, the release of his second album, Makaveli Presents…Muszamil – Reparations is Due, which arrives in stores Sept. 19.
Muszamil became an affiliate of Tupac's Outlawz, shortly after his brother Mutah began recording with the
rap group under the alias “Napoleon” in 1995.
Muszamil eventually became the first to sign with Outlaw Recordz. Despite
Tupac Shakur's tragic and untimely death ten years ago, the legacy of the late rapper Tupac Shakur continues to live on through his inspirational music, spoken word projects and movies.
The cultural icon is the best-selling rap artist in history and has had his poems, and
musical work studied in various schools and colleges.
