Guru Gets In Tune For Next "Jazzmatazz" Installment
Gang Starr co-founder Guru is currently working on the fourth installment of his Jazzmatazz series.
Titled Jazzmatazz Vol. 4, the double disc set will feature appearances from Common, Raheem Devaughn, David Sanborn, Ronny Laws and Natasha Beddingfield, among others.
Frequent Guru collaborator Solar will produce the entire album, while Guru will serve as a co-producer.
"The tracks Solar and I have laid down are incredible," said Guru via a statement. "It's going to be the best Jazzmatazz yet."
The duo have worked together on past Jazzmatazz projects and recently worked together on Guru's solo album, Version 7.0: The Street Scriptures, which was released last year.
Jazzmatazz Vol. 4 will be released through Guru and Solar's label 7 Grand Records in early 2007. The album's first single will be released this fall.
